Welcome
Popcorn is a 4 year old male quaker who is cage defensive and far from hand tame.  He was a breeder male and really misses having a mate.   He is used to living with a flock of birds and really enjoys living at our main house with everybody else.  We are hoping to tame him down with raisins and bananas,  those seem to be the only things in this world to get him excited and compliant :)

Davey jones is a 20+ year old male nanday who was wild caught in South America and imported for breeding.  He has severe arthritis, is still completely wild, and has gout on one of his feet from his kidney issues.  We are hoping with a change to a healthier diet his overall health, appearance, and happiness will improve.  He has already been here a month and his tail is starting to grow back, and he is perching better.

Corona is a female gold capped conure who is about 3 years old.  She was weaned too early and as a result is very needy of people and other birds.  She has a vitamin A deficiency that is berging onto a respiratory infection.  Her change in diet seems to be greatly helping.  She was introduced to nova and the 2 girls became fast friends.  They eat out of the same bowl, sleep together, and play together constantly.  Corona is not tame,  but she is also very gently and has great potential to be.

Quarantine facilities setup at the main house for emergency rescues without health validation.  The new feathery children will stay here in these 3x2.5x2 cages for a period of 1 month.  During this time the birds will be heavily monitored and all of their behaviors, habits, and physiological issues will be noted for investigation.  This is to ensure a proper medical history is taken so appropriate care may be administered, and the best training routines can be planned out to curb negative behaviors and psychological trauma.  At this time we can also determine which of the main houses or flocks to incorporate them into based on their personality and the flocks compatibility.  This is a very important step and should not be rushed.  Adjusting takes time, and the first experience at their new home here should be far from traumatic.  We want to ease them into our family.

Welcome Nova and Icarus- a 5 and 6 week old pair of Sun Conures.  They are brother and sister(we believe) and very much bonded as well as independent at times.  Theywere put on 3 handfeedings a day.  The 5 week old we are calling Nova, and her older brother we have called Icarus.  They have been here for a little over a month and growing like weeds.  They have in all their feathers and are spending some time apart so they don't become to reliant on one another.  Icarus is with Rachel and Nova is with Andrea.  Both have adjusted to their separate lives and their new families but have weekly playdates together so they stay close.
